Bloggiesta Update – Friday Evening 6 PM

blogiesta

Oh the feeling of being better organized! And the frustration to be stuck at finishing one goal.

Completed Goals and Challenges

Goal Number 1 and Mini Challenge  – Back up Blog

That was easy!  I backed up my blog two ways and posted a comment at the mini challenge site Farm Lane Books Blog where she gives instructions on how to back up your blog on Blogger and links for Wordpress. I additionally backed up Layers of Thought with another program since my template is modified and a non blogger url. I used a program called HTT Track Website Copier.

Mini Challenge – Labels and Tags

Not too difficult either since I had already cleaned up the mess of a tag list that I had several months ago. Beth Fish Reads who is hosting a mini challenge around tags has some additional useful tips at her site hosting a mini challenge.

My tag goals were:

  1. The creation of two labels - 2009 Previews, 2009 Reviews  (the other 2010 tags will be added as soon as I have posts for this current year)
  2. The creation of a label for the Bloggiesta
  3. Finding and correcting errors in some of my tagging

Goals in Progress

Goal number 2 – Create an Internal Link Post for Reading Challenges and Update Completed Challenges

This is a “fiddly” pain in the behind which I have been working on for hours - you may see several old blog post pop up – OOPS!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It is now time for dinner and drinks – vegetarian quesadillas and margaritas (JD loves these). Perhaps I will be back later this evening… or not depending on the number of margaritas.

Lets all share a round of shots for the hard work - Tequila or espresso your choice – Salute todos!

  1. Quesadillas and margaritas? Count me in! *L*

Sounds like you've gotten off to a great start! I've only completed one mini challenge and that was a pretty easy one. Am bouncing back and forth with cleaning up my labels and editing my blogrolls. Also working on some posts. Need to finish something so I can add it to my Done List!

Have fun with the rest of your challenges!

    Your welcome at my house!

I did not notice your Mr. Linky link at MAW's site.

I know how you feel wanting to complete things. I tried to keep it simple so I could achieve my goals but got lost for 5 hours in just one of them. Oh dear. But hey this is not a race its a process. I had fun and will be up tomorrow morn trying to finish off that dog gone list.

My Spanish has gotten mixed with other nationalities... and my spelling stinks in all languages including my own.

    Cheer to you my dear!

We love Mexican food. I adore Mexican culture.

    Muchas Gracias!

Not sure where your comment went but this is becoming frustrating... not the first time.

Thanks for the comment and stopping by.

    See you all tomorrow!

  5. Sounds like you're off to a great start. I'm interested in making an internal link to a "Read This Year" post as well -- would love to hear any suggestions about how to accomplish this!

Thanks again, not sure where your comment went. I guess you missed my comment on you blog?

Thanks... not sure how much longer I will be at it. Hubby wants to do some real life stuff.

The internal link post is a great tool. I have done one as my blog roll and I have it linked on my front page.

Since I am having a problem with the search tool with google blogger (as well as with the comments) it is really important or I would be nuts.

Let me know if you have any questions I would be happy to help if I am able.

  7. Yes, I got a lot of tasks completed, but one of the big ones that I haven't done is the "backing up of the blog."

That sounds important, so I'm going to try. But I'm not sure where to put the backed up files. I guess I'll have to decide, or perhaps the process will show me, as I go through the steps.

When I'm doing something new like that, I'm always afraid that I'll mess it up, and end up in a worse place than I was!

I like the idea of the Margaritas!

It is so easy and you can decide when your doing it where to save it. Just write the file name and pathway down.

    You can do it.

As for the margaritas I had three last night - hence the non evening participation. :)

How about a Mexican coffee - caffeine and Tia Maria!

I am going to stay off twitter so I do not get distracted.

  9. Good work, Shellie! You are doing so well :-) Good work with the other way of backing up your blog, too.

    Thanks for the cheer on!

I am so embroiled that I am not getting around to other's posts.

That book challenge link up was tough... and now I am checking bad links... OMG I am going to be here for days.
